Ski holiday in the Stubai Valley
Four ski areas, a ski room in the house, the bus at the door
Ski holiday in the Stubai Valley
A ski holiday in a holiday apartment means setting off early when the snow is good and cooking in your own kitchen in the evening instead of being tied to fixed mealtimes. Casa Habicht is in Neustift-Kampl, and the bus stop is a one-minute walk away. The free ski bus takes you to every ski area in the Stubai Valley.
Four ski areas reachable with the free ski bus
Four ski areas are spread across the Stubai Valley: the Stubai Glacier at the head of the valley, Schlick 2000 in Fulpmes, the Serlesbahnen in Mieders and the Elferbahnen right in Neustift. You can reach all four with the free ski bus; the stop is a one-minute walk from the apartment.
The Stubai Glacier is Austria’s largest glacier ski area and guarantees snow from October to May. If you prefer a family ski area, Schlick 2000 offers a run down to the valley and plenty of rustic huts to stop at.
In practice, this means you don’t have to commit to one area at the start of the week. Depending on the weather and snow conditions, you choose afresh each morning – without moving the car and without hunting for a parking space at the valley station.

Ski touring, ice climbing and ice skating
Off-piste, with skins under your touring skis, the Stubai offers a wide range of routes at every level of difficulty – through forests and across wide alpine meadows up to the best-known peaks in the valley.
Because of its high technical demands on climbing and belaying, climbing frozen waterfalls is considered the supreme discipline of alpinism and requires corresponding experience, for example in assessing ice stability and avalanche risk.
Things are calmer on the ice: the ice rink in Neustift, the natural ice rink Klaus Äuele and the Eisarena in Fulpmes are ready for pirouettes or a round of Bavarian curling.
The apartments
The two apartments, Elfer and Sonnenstein, each have two bedrooms for two to four guests and measure approx. 53 square metres. Both holiday apartments have a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, oven, ceramic hob, kettle and coffee machine.
Bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included, as is the covered parking space. A grocery shop is a one-minute walk away, a cash machine 100 metres.
You will find floor plans and the full list of amenities under Apartments, and everything about winter in the valley under Winter in the Stubai Valley.

Getting here in winter
From Innsbruck, the Stubai Valley is around 20 minutes away via the toll Brenner motorway A13, Schönberg/Stubaital exit (exit no. 10). Toll-free along the Brenner main road to Schönberg takes about 35 minutes.
Without a car, take bus line no. 590 from Innsbruck main station to the Neustift-Kampl stop – a journey of around 35 minutes. From there it is a one-minute walk to the house. The tourist board provides a voucher for one free use of this line for your arrival and departure.
Innsbruck Airport is around 25 kilometres away; bus line F runs every 15 to 30 minutes to the main station.

Why a holiday apartment instead of a hotel
Whether you head out early for the first lift, stop at a mountain hut for lunch or prefer to eat out in the village in the evening is entirely up to you. Your own kitchen gives you complete freedom: you can cook, but you don’t have to. There are no fixed mealtimes.
Then there is the space: two separate bedrooms mean the children can sleep while the adults are still sitting in the living area. And wet ski boots go in the lockable ski room with boot dryer instead of hanging over the radiator in your room.
